We loved the cottage (which is even nicer than it looks in the photos) and the nearby beaches and villages. Brancaster beach is gorgeous for long walks. Having the Spar across the road is very convenient for food shopping.

We had a wonderful week. A perfectly placed cottage to have a holiday in Norfolk. Though very cold outside, it was nice to return to a warm comfortable cottage. We found The Orange Tree, at Thornham, and had a lovely meal there, on our last night. I’m afraid we forgot to write anything in your book. Sorry.

We had a fantastic stay in the cottage. The village is ideally located, very close to the lovely Burnham market and beaches for great walks. It's opposite a Spar which is also very handy. The cottage itself is immaculately kept. Being January we enjoyed the open fire in the living room. It has a really nice sized garden as well which would be great in the summer time - we may just have to visit again to sit out in it! Thank you for a lovely stay :)

really nice cottage. A bit quirky, with steep stairs and a few low doors. It warm and welcoming.

This cottage is well placed in Docking. It is right opposite the spar shop, and the chippy and pub are a short walk away. The cottage is well equipped and is warm once you have sussed out the " Norwegian" heating. The garden is nice and is very dog safe. The wi fi is very good and the beds and sofas are comfortable. The only issues we found were getting used to the steep wooden stairs and remembering to duck if you are 6 ft ➕ . I suggest taking slippers with a bit of grip ! In regards to places visited of note, The Orange Tree award winning, pub at Thornham on the coast is excellent. The beaches at Wells , Holkam, and Brancaster are stunning . Norfolk Lavender at Heacham, is worth a visit. The only disappointing visit was to Sandringham. Only a few rooms were open, so it was not worth the money.

Thanks for your review most kind I will have a word with Elizabeth about Sandrigham. All the best Robin, Jane, Henry and Sandra

We stayed in this property with five adults, a toddler, and a large dog. It was a lovely property, well equipped, and never felt too small for all of us. The garden was a massive bonus, large, safe and fully enclosed, perfect for both the dog and the toddler. The location in the heart of the village is fantastic, it was so handy to have the shop opposite. Myself and hubby enjoyed a lovely meal at the village pub, a rare treat with a toddler, and the Chocolate Brownie lived up to the trip advisor reviews as the best in the country! Would also recommend a visit to the weekly market in the village hall, we got some fresh Cromer crab which was a real treat.. We enjoyed the beaches at Holme Dunes, lovely empty beach, though a little tricky to find, as well as the beach at Hunstanton.

We have just returned from another lovely stay in the enchanting north of Norfolk, this time with 3 small boys in tow and not sleeping in a VW camper van! The cottage was comfortable and thoughtfully decorated, and our 3 young boys were quickly at home, especially with the outside room as their own little "den". We all slept well in the beds, and the accommodation was perfect for a family of 5. The kitchen diner provided a light, bright space for family meals and games, and the garden was well-enclosed for the boys to play in. It took a day to get used to the steep stairs but we never thought about it twice after that. Docking itself was superbly located for exploring the north coastline, and we had day upon day of glorious beach weather, which we certainly made the most of. Brancaster Beach was our family favourite, especially when we discovered the more spacious area to the left which was ideal for family cricket, but we also thoroughly enjoyed Wells Beach and Old Hunstanton Beach too. Trips to Burnham Market and Wells are a must, but everywhere you drive, you come across picturesque villages and many great choices for delis and pubs. We had everything we needed in the cottage, and found the shop opposite extremely handy for any little extras! All in all, a very relaxing holiday in a stunning part of the country. Many thanks to Robin and co for our memorable stay.

We had another lovely stay at this very desirable family holiday house. With the Spar shop being right opposite and open till 10pm, it made the location so ideal for us, particularly with the freshly baked croissants we ate for breakfast every day from the in-store bakery - It was like being in France! Unfortunately we were not blessed with great weather this time but the bi-fold French doors opening into the garden were a real score last time we stayed. The beds were really comfortable with lovely feather pillows - we all enjoyed great night sleeps. Everywhere seemed newly and tastefully decorated and well looked after. The bath and shower seemed new too. The other big score (for my husband at least), was the Super Fast Broadband! (50mbps) Which is always a factor when choosing a holiday cottage for us. The stairs are a bit steep but we had 3 children (6,5 & 1.5yrs) and none of them struggled with them and there are built in stair gates on every level. Overall this is an ideal place to stay, we love the village of Docking as well because it's centrally located for all the places we like to visit on the North Norfolk Coast. Having Thornham and Burnham Market only 8 mins drive away is so great. The beaches at Wells-next-to-the-sea are also only 15mins drive away. We would thoroughly recommend this house to stay in and we will be back soon!

This is a lovely comfortably holiday home, well situated for lots of great family days out. You do need to be aware though that the stair cases are very steep, particularly to the top floor, and have a narrow tred. This wouldn't put us off returning as its fine if you take care and it's such a nice place to stay. However, this is probably not the place for you if you are taking elderly guests or have young children that need help or carrying on the stairs.

Old Holme is a great getaway from it all place to stay. There is plenty of space and the cottage has been designed with great style. It is well furnished and has everything you need for a true home from home experience. It is an excellent location for exploring the North Norfolk area with fantastic beaches not too far away. Dog friendly too!! We've had some truly amazing holidays here :)

"Review"

Such a lovely place stay in an idyllic location. The breaches are amazing. My family and I have stayed there a number of times and there is always lots to do and great places to see. We particularly enjoyed the beaches especially the one with the sand dunes, Holme Beach. The cottage is ideal and a great place to relax after an active day especially on the decking in a summers evening. An undiscovered gem - thank you. We will be back!

"Peaceful and relaxing holiday"

A delightful, comfortable and well-equipped cottage which provided us with a wonderful base to explore this beautiful part of Norfolk. The cottage is situated near the wonderful Brancaster beach where we spent many sunny days. A fantastic fish and chip shop around the corner and lots of lovely restaurants to choose from nearby. We also had some very relaxing evenings in the garden. All in all a perfect location and a lovely place to spend a holiday (or three!).

"A fantastic week!"

We had a fantastic week in this lovely cottage. The weather was incredible as were all the different beaches. The cottage is well placed for exploring all the top sites, and there is lots to do. The boat trip to see the seals was a highlight for our children! The cottage is quirky, well equipped, and very comfortable for the 6 of us. The large garden is secluded and sunny, perfect for all the BBQs we enjoyed.
